Welcome to the Sweet Spot Blog

    Near the end of my senior year at Villanova, I came up with the idea of having an online candy store that would sell primarily imported candy and chocolates from around the world. As a daughter of Polish immigrants, I have grown up eating  amazing chocolate that came from Poland like E. Wedel, Wawel, and my favorite Prince Polo. My parents were also able to buy other brands like Milka and Kinder which were from Germany. Getting this chocolate was like a treat because I wasn't able to get it all the time. My parents rarely shopped at stores in Polish neighborhood so they weren't buying these sweets as often as I would have liked. 

    What I envision with this online candy store is a place that people can visit and purchase various chocolate/candy brands from around the world. I have done a lot of research and have read about so many unique sweets. I have looked at many different countries confectionery brands and they are all so different from one another. For example, Italy loves the combination of hazelnut and chocolate. Japan has some of the craziest chocolates you will ever hear of. Did you know that in Japan there are over 30 flavors of kit kats? 

    As of right now, most the candy/chocolate on the website www.phillysweetspot.com is from the UK, Germany, Poland, and Italy. As I add more items, I will write about them here and give more information. Also, if there are any sweets that your particularly interested in and would like to be added to the site let me know!
